This is a UK version of the Florida Cow Whip, there are so many whip makers doing the original wood handled version of this and doing it well, it seemed pointless to become just another, so whilst the handle length is kept to the traditional stats it's composition is a half plaited Copper tube with the cup to thong transition being a PVCu coupling joint, making it unique to both Essentia and the UK, hence the name. UK Cow Whips are available in 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 foot lengths

The UK Cow Whip

starts out as a copper pipe, at the business end is a PVCu coupling joint that creates a cup to thong transition, the thong is secured using the grapevine stitch, the handle portion is plaited in a 16 plait and finished at the heel with a 7×6 turks head with a box interweive, this is not a complex knot but one that is not used often and certainly not in nylon, in the end and held in by the bites of the knot to finish it nicely and continue the metalic theme is a nice concho, a very basic 7×6 two tone knot at the other end of the plaiting, all this leaves around 4 inches of copper visable and this is highly polished to enhance the overall look…..
